Personal Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with SalesAkart, we collect the following categories of information:

Website Activity and the Meta Pixel

SalesAkart uses the Meta (Facebook) Pixel on its website. When optional tracking has been accepted, the Pixel may collect information about interactions with the website, including page views and related activity or behavioural data. This helps us understand website usage, measure advertising and conversion performance, and support relevant marketing activities where those activities are used.

The Pixel uses cookies or similar tracking technologies. Relevant information may be processed by Meta as a third-party platform or service provider under Meta's own policies and settings.

Meta Pixel is treated as non-essential tracking and is loaded only after you choose to accept optional cookies through the website's consent banner.

How We Use Your Information

We use information collected when you shop with us to:

• Courier companies, to deliver your orders.
• Payment gateways such as PayFast, to process payments.
• Meta, when optional tracking is enabled by your consent.

SalesAkart does not sell your personal data to third parties.

Communications

Email Communications:

We communicate by email for order updates, confirmations and support responses.

WhatsApp, SMS and Marketing:

We do not send promotional messages via WhatsApp, SMS or other channels unless you explicitly request them. Any electronic direct marketing will be handled in accordance with POPIA section 69, including its applicable consent and opt-out requirements. Transactional emails may include order confirmations, shipping updates and responses from customer support.

Data Security

As contemplated by POPIA sections 19-21, we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information against loss, damage, unauthorised destruction, unlawful access or unlawful processing. No online service or method of data transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If a personal-information security compromise occurs, we will take the steps required by POPIA section 22, including notifying the Information Regulator and affected data subjects where required by law.

Your Privacy Rights

Subject to POPIA and any lawful restrictions, you may:

• Request access to personal information SalesAkart holds about you, as provided for in POPIA section 23.
• Request correction or deletion of information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date, incomplete, misleading or unlawfully obtained, as provided for in POPIA section 24.
• Object to certain processing where the grounds in POPIA section 11(3) apply.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

If you believe personal information has been processed in a way that violates POPIA, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator under section 74 of POPIA. Cookies and Tracking

The Meta Pixel and optional Google analytics and advertising tags are not loaded until you accept optional cookies. You can reject non-essential tracking without affecting essential shopping, account, cart or checkout functions.

Their own privacy notices and settings may also apply to information they process. Some providers may process information outside South Africa.
